Crochet pattern to make the sweet little lamb shown in the photo. Precious right down to its little knees!
No finished size is given, though with body section nearly 7 inches, head 5 inches and neck 1 inch, it would be about 12 inches from head to start of tail at the gauge given.
Material requirements listed are Chadwicks Red Heart Baby Wool, 4 balls (¾ oz. balls) of White and scraps of Pink. Clarks O.N.T. Plastic Crochet Hook No. 5. Scraps of Black, Mid Pink and Mid Rose Pearl Cotton. 1 yard blue satin ribbon, ½ inch wide. Cotton batting for stuffing.
Gauge is 16 sc make 4 inch and 16 rnds make 4 inches. Yarn is used double throughout. (A single strand of worsted weight yarn with appropriate hook to give same gauge would also make a lamb about the same size.)
Of course, polyester fiberfill can be used instead of cotton batting. The lamb in the photo sports a bell on the neck ribbon, which would be cute, but not safe if intended for a baby or young child.
White yarn is used to embroider French knots over the head and body. Knowledge of how to make the French knot embroidery stitch is assumed in this pattern.
This republished antique or vintage pattern is in the English language and has been retyped from my old original and proof read by at least two experienced crocheters.
The pattern is in an Adobe pdf file that you can view on your computer (Mac or PC) and print with Adobe Reader, which is a free download at www.adobe.com
Immediate Download! No shipping or handling fees!
