The Brothers Gruff is a melting pot for everything that is music in Dave's head. Playing with numerous musicians over the years, Dave found it easier to keep his name on the marquee, but wanted to add credibility to the band that backs him. So, The Brothers Gruff was born! The newest line up consisting of Dave Devlin (vox, guitars), Greg Long (drums), & Frank Scheurer (bass) has been around for about a year. The Gruff will be releasing a new record on December 16th that will consist of all these members plus tons of other guest musicians that they have befriended along the way. You can describe the sound as rock and roll with a twist. Please note that The Gruff are no cookie cutter band and are not 4th generation anything. All the members contribute there own styles which fuse into solid well-polished songs that push the boundaries of todayâs popular music. "We are experimenting within the limits" Dave has been known to say. It doesnât really make too much sense, but when you hear the music you will understand where he is coming from. The Gruff has been compared to The Clash, Elvis Costello, Dinosaur Jr., and many other, but remain true to their distinct sound. Have a listen....
