The Daystar Project is a grand experience in Christian music featuring the sounds of Latin, Jazz, Celtic, neo-classic and light rock.
The group first got started in 1996, when the late John Crawford, Associate Pastor of Kingsland Baptist church in Katy, Texas approached Brian Foutz and Don Bleyl to assist in the planning of a âvespers concert " for the church. Pastor Crawford wanted to tell of the Christ child through creative arrangements of Christmas hymns accompanying a story. Brian, Don and several other members of the praise band said "yes" and so began a tradition of a special gift of music at Christmas. In 1998 the band started sharing this gift with some of the other local churches in the Katy area. In 1999, the band needed a name that would represent our group as a project to honor God as we continued to share our gift with local churches. We found our answer in 2 Peter 1:19 (KJV) and formed what has become The Daystar Project.
We have since grown to as many as ten (10) people and have begin a new journey into Praise and Worship music
Why does The Daystar Project Ministry continue today? "To reach unbelievers and edify believers through music to the glory of God." We bring the message of hope, joy and salvation through Christ to the lost and hurting, as well as encourage, uplift and edify the body of Christ. We believe in Christ's healing power through prayer and we are working towards ministering to others through music and prayer.
Our group consists on members from area local churches who are jazzed to be on the set with the Daystar Project.

The groups make up includes;
Debbie Fancher (song writer, lead singer,),
Brian Foutz (writer/arranger. Keyboards and vocals)
Stephen Coffee (writer/arranger, electric and acoustic guitar, harmonica and hand percussion),
Rob Harper (drums and percussion)
Steve âGadjotâ McFadden (percussion, hand sonic percussion, hand percussion and gadjots)
Carolyn Burell (violin, vocals, hand percussion)
Ty Miyahara (flugel horn, penny whistle, hand percussion, vocals)
Mike Wilson (bass and keyboards)
Jim Boggs (Soprano Sax, hand percussion)
Leah Foutz (background vocals)

The band has recorded two 2) previous CDâs, in 2001 we recorded âHoliday Soundsâ which featured ten (10) instrumental pieces. Five (5) of these songs were Christmas songs creatively arranged by some of our musicians, and five (5) original arrangements from a âCreation Projectâ that the band had been working on.

Our second CD, âHope for a wounded Worldâ featured several instrumental Christmas songs, and three vocal pieces, featuring Don Bleyl as lead singer.

Our third CD, and our first praise and worship CD was just recently recorded this past year and released in December 2006. This is an incredible sounding CD that you, your family and friends will love to listen to over and over again. Included in the CD are the sounds of Latin, Latin and Jazz, Celtic, neo-classical and light rock.
