Fans of Steely Dan and Vince Guaraldi (Charlie Brown "Linus and Lucy") will love Michael Bluestein's latest CD "Ambient Soul". Featuring covers of tunes by Steely Dan (FM), Peter Gabriel (Mercy Street), the musical Godspell (Day by Day), and many of Michael's groove based, haunting originals, this CD appeals to people of diverse ages and tastes. It is an instrumental "jazz" recording that is very accessible and inviting.
Michael is presently the principle keyboardist for multiplatinum selling Sony recording artist Anastacia. The group has been touring extensively throughout Europe in 2004 and will comtinue touring in Europe and Asia throughout 2005. Michael also recently finished a U.S. tour with the legendary Boz Scaggs in August, 2003. The tour culminated in a live DVD recording of Boz's greatest hits which was released on August of 2004. Michael has also toured and recorded with multiplatinum recording artist and producer Linda Perry (of 4 Non Blondes, Pink, and Christina Aguilara fame), and Grammy winning singer songwriter Shelby Lynne.
Michael Bluestein is a Berklee College of Music graduate, where he studied jazz piano, songwriting, arranging and classical music. He considers himself a keyboardist chameleon of sorts. On any given night he can be found playing jazz, funk, pop, gospel, Brazilian music, and just about anything else. Michael's rich musical style is in demand by a discerning mix of jazz, R & B, and pop artists.
