A cinematic account of Danny's childhood in an Irish orphanage. Poignant but humorous, graphic and insightful, Danny weaves traditional Celtic melodies and instruments with a modern touch.
16 MP3 Songs
WORLD: Celtic, FOLK: Modern Folk
Details:
Born and raised in Dublin Ireland, Danny's songs are nuanced and powerful. Blending his Celtic roots with rock and modern influences, his music is vital and soulful with a gentle Irish edge.
From aged 8 to 16, Danny spent his formative years in the infamous Artane Industrial School; An institution run by the Irish Christian Brothers. The mosaic of everyday orphanage life is uniquely crafted with memorable melodies and sculptored prose; the friends and enemies, the laughter and tears, the wheeling and dealing of the young Danny as he fights for his identity amongst 800 other abandoned lads.
Life was hard and abusive but Danny tells his story with wit and insight, leaving the listener inspired and uplifted. Funny, poignant, mischievous and cinematic, his latest CD is a graphic account of the triumph of the human spirit in the face of abandonment and hardship.
