Details:
DB Martin was born to make music. Having always displayed some sort of musical talent since childhood, vocally and on the drums, and all the while never having received any formal training, DB has memories as far back as a young boy, singing well enough to records to make others take notice, and playing drums as a teen very well and quite instantly. However, from 1997 to the present is a bit of a surprise. DB found himself learning to play piano at the same time he would discover his own unique musical ability and style. During this process DB would find his voice, pen the lyrics AND compose the music to a large battery of songs that leave the listener no less than amazed. Now, having formed the DB Martin Group, his debut CD comes out with a thunderous boom! That makes him somewhat of a music phenom. Not to mention such a joy to listen to. What moving music! Where did this come from? Listen to the Music!

Layers of luxurious sound shaped and sharpened by the incredible contribution of bass and guitar by Jason James. Guitarists Ari Koinuma and Jimmy Joe Natoli lend their extraordinary guitar talents on the inspirational power ballad Touch the Sky, Wish Upon a Star, a sexy jazzy number about unrequited love,(Ari), After You're Gone, a soulful break-up number that pays homage to old school R&B, and My Home Now, a powerful rock ballad that simply states "home is where the heart is" (Jimmy Joe). Along with the soulful sax of Paul Klemperer combined with the seemingly perfect melding of yesterday and today in DB's compositions, it all comes together to form the musical soundscapes created by DB Martin. And yes that's DB on the drums! From the rocking title song, Miracle Man, a song that pays tribute to DB's musical hero, John Lennon, to the rhythmic world beats of One of Us, this CD is to say the least, compelling. Piano, drums, vocals, songwriting; seems DB has inadvertently become a sort of Phil Collins of the new millenium!

People have said this music sounds a little like Santana, a little like Michael McDonald, a little like Pink Floyd and whole lot like DB. DB's musical teeth were cut nestled between Chicago and Detroit heavily influenced by old schoool R&B and rock in its very formative years with a heavy dose of the Beatles thrown in there. "I've always loved big music", says DB. "Who doesn't like love songs?". DB recorded and co-produced this CD with Jason James at Spin Studios Austin, a now defunct home studio owned by James. Together over the past year they have put together an amazing debut CD of 12 songs that are being incredibly well received by listeners all over the world. The live show is amazing. These are serious musicians who have created an undeniable sound. Some of the most incredible music to come to life in Austin, Tx. Stan Ridgway of Wall of Voodoo fame had this to say when he came upon DB's MySpace page "WOW BABE! What a site! Great Music!" Veteran songwriter, Don Kirkpatrick, who has worked along side such legends as Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra and is co-credited with composing the theme music for the movie, Who's Afraid of Virgina Woolf calls DB the "real thing".
