Promising New Arrival out of the city of Berlin.

With the release of their debut long-play album, "Dezemberkind", two natives of the City of Berlin, set out with a strong will to top the vibrant music of the German capitol with their newly founded band, Dezember*Kind.

Sparkling modern day acoustic rock, a little too rough around the edges for the singer/songwriter category, yet a tee bit too melodramatic for straight rock folks.

In a recent article appearing in the German news magazine, Der Spiegel, journalist, Christoph Dallach, denounced much of todays music as 'white wall music' listened to and distributed at Starbucks Café aiming at the buying power of 30-40 year olds. Artist's melodies that have become part of the interior decoration of a global franchise.

The article refers to Dido, Corinne Bailey Rae, Joss Stone, India Arie, Heather Nova, Rebekka Bakken, however James Blunt and David Gray have been listed as well.

According to the Spiegel article, 3 requirements must be met to be recognized as white wall (café Macchiato) music:

⢠Easy listening, and of no distraction from small talk while enjoying your latte Macchiato
⢠Fastidiousness, allowing discovery beyond the top 40, and in good taste to disallow for becoming ring-tones
⢠Authenticity, the ever present longing for something to be real

New Berlin Acoustic Rock in German language instead of global Latte Macchiato music celebrated by Dezember*Kind with an articulate, accessible, immediate brew of rootsy sass, the wistful quandary (a cello accompanies much of the singer, Katharina's gripping lyrical bite) counter todays music scene's lukewarm coffee music with heartfelt immediacy and intimacy.

Dezember*Kind may well lack the talent for small talk. Both founders, Katharina Biebrich (25), and Sylvia Eulitz (30) are simply not known for muttering and sweet talking⦠Not in the taxi cab, not at the beauty parlor, not at the supermarket, and not at any coffee shop.
