BLUES: Electric Blues, ROCK: Roots Rock
Details:
Hall is one of the southeast's favorite entertainers. His southern blues-rock style is widely accepted with blues, country, and rock audiences all across the country. This was evident when Winston Cup Racing tapped him to perform on the NASCAR circuit. This is where he found that the NASCAR crowd loved the guitar driven blues and southern rock. Hall was consistently performing to crowds from 10,000 - 18,000 as the only performer on the show. For four years, he performed in front of more than 250,000 fans each year. Over seven million videos, "Full Access", hosted by Hall, were distributed to NASCAR fans, which included segments of his live show.
Being a natural athlete, while on the NASCAR tour he was given the opportunity to be Jimmy Spencer's jackman during the 1999 Winston Cup season. "It was an incredible opportunity. I couldn't pass it up. Physically, it reminded me of the days when I was a linebacker for the University of Kentucky."
His unique look and style landed him a supporting role and song in the DreamWorks film "The Last Castle" starring Robert Redford and James Gandolfini.
This eastern Kentucky native received a full football scholarship to the University of Kentucky but his heart was in music. Although against athletic regulations, he often sneaked out to bars late at night so he could play guitar. After his freshman year, he transferred to Vanderbilt University and entered pre-med. However, he eventually gave into the music "bug", decided to follow his heart and went on the road to learn the business from his father, country music legend, Tom T. Hall. He began as a roadie and sold concessions. In between weekend road trips, he took music business and audio recording classes at the renowned Recording Industry Management at Middle Tennessee State University, in Murfreesboro, TN.
