Biography:
Album "Memorial Song Collection" is a compilation of the music that Judith Tinsley composed and recorded during her lifetime. The songs demonstrate her creative ability to compose beautiful and heart warming music, along with her lovely singing voice.
Judy was a very bright woman with a compassionate and nurturing personality. She lived by a very high moral standard and believed all people should be treated equally. Judy had a wonderful sense of humor. She had an ever lasting influence on those that were fortunate enough to be touched by her life. Judy raised three wonderful children, and each one of them has grown up with their motherâs character, and they are very successful. She really enjoyed her three grandchildren. Unfortunately, Judy passed away this past May from a terrible battle with brain and spinal cancer.
While attending Conard High School, she continued to be an honor roll student, and she enjoyed cheerleading and she had staring rolls in major theatrical productions. She performed opposite James Naughton, who later went on to star in Broadway and TV. Judy continued her musical career at Skidmore College where she focused on voice and piano, with a concentration musical education. In their music programs Judy excelled and upon graduation, she had earned a fellowship to Yale School of Music. At Yale, she continued to expand her musical education with a focus on teaching. After Yale, Judy started teaching at Beecher Road Elementary School, Woodbridge, CT. During her early years of teaching, Judy went on to earn a Masters degree from Wesleyan University. After teaching in the same school system for 31 years, she finally retired.
After she earned her Masters degree, Judy organized a small jazz band that performed in local venues for a couple of years. After singing lead for awhile, she became interested with composing music. She was able to write some beautiful music with very creative lyrics. Judy went on to perform these songs along with others in recording sessions. Unfortunately, one of five songs that Judy had composed was still on sheet music when she passed away. With Judyâs teaching career and raising three wonderful children, along with putting each one through college, and as the years went by, there was never time to focus on a career in the music industry. Judy always put her family first and thoroughly enjoyed her opportunity to teach young children the world of music.
During the past 15 years, Judy did enjoy singing Karaoke, and specifically at the Stonewell Restaurant, Farmington, CT that is operated by Carol Willis. Carol always enjoyed having Judy perform.
Since Judyâs passing, her husband Dennis Tinsley initiated a project to get her music professionally published and recorded, so it could be shared with the general public. The album "Memorial Song Collection" has been produced as a tribute to Judy's glorious musical talents. It is a compilation of 11 songs that Judy performed during her lifetime. Five of the songs she composed both the music and lyrics. The fifth song was still on sheet music when she passed away. Dennis was able to have the song "I'll Still Be Loving You" professionally recorded and produced in Nashville, TN. The session artist performing the vocal track is the very talented and successful Tania Hancheroff from Nashville.
