Vivien Lloyd of âVivien Lloyd Preservesâ and author of âFirst Preservesâ commissioned this song to promote the making of traditional marmalades, and in particular marmalade made by men.
Vivien Lloydâs passion for the tradition of marmalade making culminated in her becoming the overall winner at the Worldâs Original Marmalade Festival 2008. Founded in 2006, the festival has developed into âThe Marmalade Awardsâ, which include a âMan Madeâ category. The awards are held at Dalemain Historic House and Gardens in Cumbria in February each year, at the beginning of National Marmalade Week.
A proportion of the proceeds of each download the song (20 during 2012) will be donated to âThe Marmalade Awardsâ as a contribution to the charities they support.
