Thanks for your interest in Tribalistic Sessions,

In brief, I am originally from Trinidad. My music is very much influenced by my background that is rich in African and Indian cultural music, as well as British Pop music.

With the Brit-Pop influence in the Trinidad, music from the UK could be found all over the island. I spent many weekends going to block parties ("Blocos") to listen to rich 'Rockers' music, from which Reggae and Dancehall were derived. With the UK influence, I found that DJs were experimenting with the fusion of Electronica and Rockers/Calypso/Reggae/Jazz/Hip-Hop/R&B rhythms to create the underground style of music, known as Jungle. This is how I first developed an interest in Jungle.

On my many trips to the UK in the late 90s, I visited several clubs with underground Jungle. I was able to get a taste of Jungle, just as the Drum & Bass scene was picking up steam. I have since delved deeper into D&B, but have always had a sense of nostalgia for the Jungle of the early 90s. As such, my music is a bridge between D&B, that most people are more familiar with, and Jungle, which is really where D&B came from.

My D&B influences are LTJ Bukem, Fabio and Goldie (Thank you for your creative sessions!)
