A composition for one or more solo instruments, one of which is usually a keyboard instrument, usually consisting of three or four independent movements varying in key, mood, and tempo.


Dub Sonata: A 25 year old music producer from New York City. "Music was always a part of my life," Dub recalls, "even before I was taking it seriously. Growing up, I tried playing several instruments but I never really took to any of them. When a friend eventually showed me how to use some equipment I was instantly hooked. I copped an MPC2000xl and this old Yamaha Synth and I've been goin hard since." 9 years later Dub spends most of his time working in the Mes Hall or Basshedz Studios with fellow producers and partners Mes (Illestrated) and Joey T (Basshedz). He has recorded numerous songs with artists such as D-Block's J-Hood and Q.B. legend Nature as well as fresh acts like Double A.B. and Rich Mo. "My sound is unlike most other producers nowadays- I think that's 'cuz a lotta these dudes just listen to rap. Rap bores me a lot of the time-it's too watered down."
After recording hundreds of songs, Dub decided it was time to put out a project of his own. "A lot of the joints I've done either haven't been released or were on a very small scale- indie or mixtape stuff." With no representation, management or budget, he put together "On The Arm," a 63 minute musical masterpiece featuring artists such as Nature, Bizzy Bone, J-Hood, Vast Aire, C-Rayz Walz, Dom Pachino, Thirstin Howl III, Double A.B., Rich Mo and more.

Currently Dub is working on his next project "Payback," and Double A.B.'s second album which is scheduled for an April release. In addition to producing records Dub Sonata has licensed his music to VH1 for some recent reality shows.
