EACHs genesis came around 1981, when Paul J. Young, Raymond Black, and Dale Williams began writing and recording original songs and playing gigs in the Southeast, covering known band music while throwing in an original song now and again to promote their music. Each of the three have played music since childhood, been in many various cover bands, played as studio session men, and experienced more than one ânear record dealâ that threatened to happen. Raymond even managed a major recording facility in Louisiana working with artists like Stevie Wonder, Kansas, and numerous others.
The first album projectââLight Songsâ featured a collection of melodic vocal songs in counterpoint to the heavy rock they played live. This was the bands first album and their opportunity to record it at Studio In The Countryâa major commercial recording studio. The album was shopped to major labels, but the record companies were searching for pop hair bands and this wasnât that. âLightSongsâ was recently digitally remastered and is available in CD format.
âThe North Border Sessionsâ is the result of utilizing modern music technology to create music togetherâbut from different states in which the members live. Paul, Ray and Daleâs project studios function as one even though they are in remote locations. Using music technology to transcend the space-time continuum between them, they aspire to reach listeners in a larger world.
