This Brooklyn based electro-acoustical improvisation and compositional group, is furious [r=lm]; a kinetic mix of ambiance and eclectic grooves, often dark, often swarming, often piercingly bright; akin to fast desert driving and urban settlements.

Details:
furious [r=lm]
furious recorded this album in Red Hook, Brooklyn mostly in the winter of 2006. It was recorded âliveâ style over one weekend. There are two tracks on the album, however, that are from an earlier incarnation of the group recorded in the same location in 2004.
Some post-production and editing was done to add another layer of ambiance and sound, however what you get is mostly a raw performance of furious in their [r=lm]. With ambient samples, wurlitzers, vibraphones, percussion and bass lines improvising and having a dialog in music.
On one of these tracks you can hear the actual thunder and rain -- a mic placed to the window screen -- that was falling that wet spring night almost 3 years ago in 2004 while an improvisational paganistic ritual began of blowing conch shells and rumbling upon timpani, shruti box droning away, giving birth to an expanding head-nodding groove that results in a face-melting vibraphone and B3 solo.
This album is meant to be approached with open ears and time to immerse yourself.
We are not afraid of intros and we like to take our time.
We sincerely hope you enjoy the furious [r=lm]

furious [r=lm] is based out of Brooklyn NY but their inspiration might be from the wide-eyed LA freeways and the high Mohave, or it might be from the northeastern tattered industrial cities that harbor the memories of their youth. Often reminiscent of dust storms, cracking, shifting ice plateaus, or urban landscapes -- from which emerges a festival of sound and light -- furious invites you to explore within a [r=lm] of eclectic groove and unique sound structure, a product of their improvisation and a product of their lives. A kinetic mix of ambiance and eclectic grooves, often dark, often swarming, often piercingly bright; akin to fast desert driving and urban settlements. Employing stacked tonality, layers and samples, they arrive at a hocketed ensemble sound that will lift you to the [r=lm].
