Contains fifteen original songs of life in West Virginia (people, places and events), performed in a country/folk/bluegrass style.
15 MP3 Songs
COUNTRY: Country Folk, COUNTRY: Bluegrass
Details:
This album consists of fifteen original songs written by Gary Eller about places, events and people of Northern West Virginia, and especially the upper Ohio Valley region where he was born and raised.
The CD contains a mixture of story songs, humorous songs and instrumentals performed in country, folk and bluegrass styles that give a snapshot of life in the northern West Virginia hill country from the early to mid 1900s.
This CD is dedicated to his mother Virginia, father Thad (deceased), many aunts, uncles and cousins, friends and the interesting topics of the songs.
Gary plays banjo, bass and guitar and his daughter Audrey sings harmony on several cuts.
Outstanding Idaho musicians also contributed to this CD.
Marv Quinton (acoustic bass, mandolin, guitar and vocals) has performed extensively with Gary in southwest Idaho as Bona Fide and was indispensable to the production of this album.
Also contributing were the fine Idaho musicians Dominique Tardif (mandolin and harmony vocals), Aaron Fewkes (fiddle), Sean Rogers (Piano) and Dick Kneidel (bass vocals).
