Funky Rock and Soul Featuring Steel Pans and Horns 8 MP3 Songs ROCK: Funk Rock, WORLD: World Fusion Details: Funk-Rock, Soul and Horn, Island Fusion Band Get Lost combines electric bluegrass-funk guitar, soulful vocal harmonies, dazzling steel pans, a powerful horn section and a versatile rhythm section to create their signature sound. The resulting funk-rock, soul and horn, island fusion blend supports an insurgent, new catalog of original compositions. The eight original tracks on âGet Lost epâ begin with the bright humanitarian anthem âOne for the Moneyâ and range from straight up blues-funk tunes, âSightâ, âLast Night at the Fillmoreâ and âLightning and Desireâ to slow and sweet âGoodbye Bluesâ and âDrinkinâ Manâs Blues,â to New Orleans and World influenced âAsk Aroundâ and âHey Nowâ. Get Lost was started in early 2005 by Tim Marsh (electric guitar and lead vocals) and included Ben Bjorlie (bass) and Nik Hope (drums and backing vocals). Intending to be a funk-rock group to support Marshâs growing original repertoire, Get Lost instantly took on a mind of itâs own. It was at their very first gig in hometown Boone, NC; Get Lost met their surprise new member Jonathan Scales (steel pans). Scales performed with Get Lost that entire night and quite naturally explored the possibilities of funk steel pans. A perfect addition to Get Lost, the entrancing steel pans gave the group an aural distinction all itâs own. Over the next several months Get Lost grew into a sound that was completely new to everyone involved. When Get Lost decided later that year to record their eight-song EP, they once again augmented their sound. Get Lost added a three-piece horn section, the High Country Horns in the studio and subsequently at special live events. With The High Country Horns, Get Lost leaned even more towards a soulful New Orleans sound. Occasionally featuring guest singers and musicians, Get Lost has become a part-time quintet with the latest addition of Patrick Brown (tenor sax and percussion). Now residing in Asheville, NC, Get Lost perseveres to further develop their sound and continues to perform their one of a kind live shows. in partnership with CDbaby User tags: Votes: Reviews: Review it!
