A band with âconvictionâ that combines powerful vocals and complex introspective lyrics with solid high-energy rock rhythms. The kind of music that hits right between the eyes and sets your head a-rockinâ.

Details:
âHigh-energy rock with poetic powerâ
âThis is music with convictionâ, says John Losito (from SDRUM, Primitive Ink).
Simply put, Have At It cranks out high-energy rock with poetic power. Formed in late 2005, this band combines complex and introspective lyrics with solid rock rhythms, mixing powerful vocals into an extremely high-energy performance. Their music appeal is multi-generational. To a younger audience, the music is fresh and different; compelling, like Cake. To âwell-seasonedâ rockers, it reminds them of the purity of rock from the past, maybe early Chili Peppers or Blue Oyster Cult. Regardless of your age, the more you listen, the more you want.
In February 2006, Have At It recorded their first CD Deus Ex Machina and began to play in local clubs. Their fan base continued to grow. And in June, 2006, Have At It attracted the attention of Hatchling Studio for the bandâs song âWitnessâ. âWitnessâ was selected as the theme song for an adult-audience animated cartoon called Gumper. The cartoon pilot was produced and is now being evaluated by Comedy Central, MTV, and Spike TV as a short-version animated series. (www.MySpace.com/GumperShow)
In Fall 2006, Have At It received a micro label deal with Night Train Studios (www.NightTrainStudios.com) in Westford, Massachusetts for the recording of their second CD, Simple Machines. Included in this CD is the controversial song âMisconceiverâ -- a biting commentary on the current culture war in our country. The song touches on the topics of Washington leadership, war, torture, and religious zeal.
Despite the sophisticated lyrics, the group considers themselves to be purists. Rare in todayâs electronic age, they work hard to maintain their humble âgarage bandâ image, only recording tracks they are able to perform live on stage. Brian Michael talks about how Have At It was formed: âIt was a bit of an evolution. Pete (Corbett) and I spent a while just jamming together, switching back and forth between playing drums and playing guitar/singing. We would just hang out at the house and play covers. We knew Mike (Zuccola) through Pete's sister, and when you meet Mike it takes all of 3 seconds to realize the kid is a performer. He came by a few times just to hang out while Pete and I jammed. Then one day he showed up with a notebook, or I supposed more like 10 notebooks, full of his writing; songs, poems, stories, what have you. We started playing some chords and Mike thumbed through his stuff and at the end of the night we had âTerrible Prisoner.â In the 2-3 weeks we wrote 6 more songs. During this time, we were also trying to get DJ (Robinson) to play with us. He was around every once in a while before this but at this point we were starting to think we may want to put an actual band together.
âWe played a few times as a 3 piece, then a few with DJ, all the while looking for another guitar to fill out the sound. Mike was telling us about his friend from school who plays the guitar and the guys from Pick Up Freud also had somebody in mind. As it turns out, they were both talking to Jake (Gardner), separately, telling him about our "band". We jammed with him a few times and by the end of February 2006 Have At It as you know it was complete:â
Mike Zuccola, lead vocals
Brian Michael, guitar, vocals
Jake Gardner, guitar, vocals
DJ Robinson, bass
Peter Corbett, percussion
âMusic⦠it all melts inside my head and trickles down into my fingertips to help me create what I create. Music is the universal language of the gods. It is one of the only things that can be enjoyed differently by each individual person on earth. Music⦠it's the greatest gift since fire.â (Mike Zuccola)
