Helcio is a composer from Brazil who brings music in this CD inspired by the amazing Brazilian jungle.

Born in the heart of Rio de Janeiro, a city famous for its music, women and beautiful landscape, Helcio has been exposed to nature and wildlife since he was a child, cultivating his passion for its protection. Music was a hobby for him as a child, composing songs as a way of playtime until quitting law school and starting work as a forest ranger in the Parque Nacional Serra dos Orgaos. During this time he had to do routine backpacking trips searching for illegal hunters and explorers and developed an extreme appreciation for the sounds of the jungle. He composed many songs in these trips with his partner Rogerio Falcao. Composing songs and beginning a wildlife protection group known as Group Era, he found his niche playing and composing, going back and forth between National Parks and gigs in bars and restaurants.

DesafinadaMente reflects these experiences, echoing the sounds of the jungle and the city. These sound experiences come with an incredible melody and root rhythms from Brazil. Unique musical instruments such as âcavaquinhoâ, âcuicaâ, âsanfonaâ and a passionate group of musicians make DesafinadaMente a great adventure!
