Details:
Imagine a huge pot, mixed with the production versatility of Dr. Dre, the song writing skills of Tupac, and seasoned with some down south and east coast flavor. This is a dish any Hip-Hop fan would savor and enjoy. It is exactly what Ike Barnes has cooking. Ike Barnes introduces a refreshing style of reality hip-hop with head-banging beats and a charismatic flow that vividly depicts urban life and the everyday struggle for success. These ingredients, coupled with a true passion for music, are showcased in his debut album entitled, ..The President... ..The President.. explains why he believes he can, and will bring the music industry to DC. In an era where some critics say hip-hop is dead, Ike Barnes is proof that a hip-hop resurgence is here.
As a natural born leader and the ruler of his own destiny, Ike plans to lead D.C., Maryland, and Virginia to the forefront of the entertainment industry. For these reasons, the album is appropriately titled, ..The President... Presidents take on the responsibility of leading their people during a time of need. Ike recognizes there is a need to bring the DC area out of the darkness and into the light. He is now focused on building his team and accomplishing his dreams.
Ike is no stranger to hard work and has vehemently pursued his dream of becoming a rap star for more than 10 years. At the age of 14, he worked hard and saved enough money to purchase his first production workstation. He began producing tracks for himself and other people in his hometown of Grand Rapids, Michigan. He knew early on that music was the love of his life. After the death of his father, he joined the military in 2001 to escape a life of poverty and confusion. Ike devoted four years to the United States Marine Corps; serving his country honorably and perfecting his leadership skills. During this time, Ike never lost sight of his goal of becoming a recording artist as he worked diligently honing his musical skills.
Ike..s first duty station in the Marine Corps placed him in Washington, D.C., where he instantly fell in love with the city and made it his new home. D.C. provided him with the perfect mix of everything he wanted out of life at the time; the beautiful women; the high paying job market; and the busy, diverse night life. Ike began working with other independent artists in the area trying to perfect his production skills and gain more experience. Fed up with the work ethic and lack of determination of other artists, he decided it was time for him to charge of his own destiny.
