The Jackie Rocks band consists of four 12 year olds who like to Rock! The band was formed in February 2006 by Jacklyn Partida at the age of 11 after being asked to perform at an art gallery in San Francisco. Jackie had been performing solo throughout the previous year, opening at several college parties for her cousin's band. At this point she decided it would be more fun to have a band of her own, so she recruited fellow guitarist Wesley Chan to play with her. Bass player DeâAndre Warren joined the band in April 2006 and former drummer Joe Plate joined in May 2006. Current drummer Jeanne Baldzikowski joined the band in September 2006.

They are a very active, working band and to date have played more than 50 shows. The performances have included several school carnivals, night clubs, private parties, music festivals such as Rock in the Park and Kid Fest, and a local television show. They currently perform every Monday night at the E3 Playhouse in Santa Cruz, and every Wednesday night at Margaritaville in Capitola. They were recently asked to begin playing at the prestigious Catalyst night club in Santa Cruz in January 2007. The current set list includes a mixture of original material and a few cover songs.

Jackie is the songwriter for the band, and the songs have been inspired by her love for Santa Cruz and her varied interests and experiences. Her songwritting style and vocals have been influenced by the likes of Sheryl Crow, A.F.I, Avril Lavigne, Heart, Linda Ronstadt, and System Of A Down. This has resulted in songs that sound familiar, yet fresh at the same time.

With a strong following of elementary, middle, and high school fans, as well as adults impressed by such a young band, the demand for recorded material grew. In October 2006, the band recorded their first six song Demo CD at Indigital Recording Studios in Santa Cruz, California and have begun the process of filming a video for the original song Fly Away.

What started out as a bunch of kids saying, "Mom, Dad, can I join a band? Sure, as long as you keep up your grades!" has turned into something quite a bit more than any of the parents could have expected.
