Well where should I start...I grew up in Columbus as a help to my family, while my parents devoted their time to building an early-childcare center and Christian Church organization, I took care of my siblings. (Cooking, cleaning, dressing, cutting hair, etc.) I thought that it was my job as a 7yr. old. Maybe I should tell you that I've been an "Ole-Soul" since I was born...so to be in charge of so much at such a young age was nothing to me. ________________________________________________________________ So, later my father needed a musician for the church...and my grandmother told my father to put me on the organ (lowrey not hammond) And that's when it all started. My father bribed me with so many toys and electric afx racing sets I didn't know what was happening. If he wanted me to learn a song, he'd promise me a...that's right a toy or something. ________________________________________________________________ The first song I ever learned was "Come on Children" written by Walter Hawkins. I can still hear the master of ceremonies calling the singers to the stage, "Welcome to the Operation Push Day of Joy Concert...Please welcome to the stage Walter Hawkins, Edwin Hawkins and the Family." That was the begining of all of this music for me. So at the age of 8 I started taking lessons and doing the best I could do for a 8yr. old.
