I was singing before I learned to talk, so the story goes...my mother was singing one day, as she always did...(she sang professionally while we were growing up, and still does...)and holding me in her arms as a pre-verbal infant and I mimiked her exactly, and in perfect pitch! Singing and writing have always been two of my greatest joys. I was reciting poetry to my mother also, early on. My sister, mother and I harmonized and sang together constantly, never a day went by when there wasn't music being made in my home. What a fabulous gift to grow up with, and our collaboration vocally as a family was so natural.
Needless to say, music and singing has been an integral part of my life for as long as I can remember.
Writing these songs and creating this album has been a labor of pure love, of joy, and of the vulnerability of the heart, a collaboration with spirit, with every level of my Being, and with some of the most amazingly gifted musicians on the planet, as far as I'm concerned; Kenny Edwards, Nina Gerber, Vince Chafin to name a few.
I have reverence for the creative process, and great respect for the time and attention it takes to birth any creative project. There is so much life experience, joy, beauty, committment, love, and time involved in the CD you are checking out...my hope is that this music touches you as much as the making of it has transformed me!
