This is absolutely beautiful music of the traditional 'porch style.' The musicians play this music for the simple joy of playing. Accordionist Jude Moreau is a Cajun who recently discovered the rich character of old Creole music. He has teamed with the fantastic Creole fiddler, Edward Poullard and Roland Ledet on vocals and guitar. A special appearance is made by Ledet's twin daughters, Leona and Leanna, who do splendid vocal harmonies on 'Grande Mamou' and ' Petits Yeux Bleu,' clearly the highlights of the release. Moreau's accordion is impeccable throughout and his vocal on 'La Valse de Pecaniere' the featured cut (his own creation as a tribute to his father) is pure and heartfelt.

Ledet's vocals grace most cuts with heart-felt feeling ­ especially on 'Love Bridge Waltz,' 'Valse de Alida.' and the mellow and lilty waltz 'Viens m' Chercher.' Poullard's fiddle adds a rich sound throughout, especially on the two instrumentals ­ 'Papa George Special' and 'Midnight Playboy Special.' This is clearly my favorite release of the year so far.
