Details:
Hello again from Lip Smackin' Music. This CD is like listening to John in his living room. He's an excellent finger picker and lyricist. He is a songwriter that wants to make you think and laugh while you're thinking. We think you will laugh often and you will enjoy his cynical view and social commentary.
This CD is NOT an extensively produced CD. If you want the very best sound and production quality money can buy - THIS AIN'T IT! If, however, you are interested in toughtful, funny, very well written songs about life, philosophy, religion, and social issues this is it. Like folk music from years gone by this CD is simple. These songs could be offensive to certain listeners - like religious folks. So you have been warned. But if you have an open mind you will certainly like the songs presented here.
John Lee is not a great singer, although he is good enough to get the point across without ear bleeding, and he is not a virtuoso on guitar but he is good enough to be interesting. He DOES record great songs with totally unique subject matter. You won't hear anything like this anywhere else that we know of.
Lip Smackin' Music is proud of this effort. This is a thread bare CD that will anger some, interest others, and could be the most controversial collection of songs produced in years. This CD is NOT politically correct and makes no apologies for its viewpoints. It DOES address issues that most people just accept without thought.
So, if you want some laughs and some dangerous thoughts, and you're not easily offended and you do question what life is about, then you might want to hear this CD. Also, as with all Lip Smackin' Music CD's, 10 of all profit goes to support research into a cure for Cystic Fibrosis. The rest will be used to produce more music for the sophisticated listener.
There were no computers used to mix or master this CD. It was recorded on an old digital 8 track, mixed through headphones direct to CD. 4 songs were produced with hired musicians and a full band and guest singers. One song, What Good Is A Great Song, the original tracks were lost so it can never be remixed unless it is re-recorded. This is a quick mix version that survived the recording foul up. Enough history. If you like this CD and the songs on it PLEASE tell your friends. It is, most likely, the only PR we will get. THANKS.
