JoJo Blues is one great Los Angeles blues band. Consisting of Jimmy Leveau (vocals), Daniel Hess (guitar), Lenny "Blues" Balzerak (harp), Rick Williams (bass), and Robin Jackson (drums), the band formed in Long Beach in the late 1990âs and has played throughout Southern California.

JoJo Blues was just selected as one of a handful of final participants in the upcoming Best LA Blues Band competition. The band's selection was based on submissions from over 80 veteran Southern California artists. This prestigious event, sponsored by Southland Blues Magazine, will commence Thursday February 1, 2007 at Harvelle's, the place for blues, in Santa Monica.

This CD: âSomewhere in Long Beach,â will move you in its entirety. The musicianship and song selection are exceptional. Check out the opener âNext time You Sue Me,â the second tune âKnee to the Freeway,â and the reworked BB King tune âThink It Over.â The originals such as "The Last Forever" and "SUM Goatee" really stand out too.
