Uniquely transendant artists such as J. Hall are hard to come by these days. His music motivates, educates,entertains, and moves you all at the same time. R&R is what he calls it, which stands for Rock & Rythym. The combination of rock influences such as Lenny Kravitz and John Mayer with R&B influences such as Babyface and Pharrel Williams sets his music off. Thus giving it that unigue mass marketing edge that most can't achieve. J. Hall achieves it almost effortlessly.
Unlike most artist these days, J. Hall didn't come from a musical background and actually didn't even grow up singing. It wasn't until the age of 20 that he decides to give it a go. Vocal lessons simply weren't in the budget so he spent hours on end practicing all by his lonesome. It was difficult, but eventually payed off when he found the sound he was looking for, and became comfortable with it. Not more than a year and a half passes when he decides to pick up the acoustic guitar. Teaching himself an instrument proved to be harder than it looked, but he did it and to this day writes most of his music on the guitar. J. Hall is far from a Lenny Kravitz guitarist, but if you can relate to his music, does it even matter? I think not. Living in LA on and off throughout the recent years has had it's advantages also. With his likeable personality and charismatic vibe he managed to wow Howard Rosen (major radio promoter), several indie record labels, and a couple of management companies. Now having distribution with Hollywood Distribution and Universal Music Group J feels the sky is the limit.
As he finishes his first independent solo album he works the coffee house/cafe circuit with nothing more than his acoustic guitar and vocals. Soon to perform regularly throughout Los Angeles, Houston, and New York, fronting his live band, he looks forward to each and every person's feedback. J.Hall will make serious waves in the very near future. Hopefully you won't miss the boat.
