Kay has pioneered in the field of healing through music, arts and color, and this recording is the culmination of her research. It is scored for (get ready): flute, recorder, harp, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, French and English horns, trombone, violin, viola, cello, doublebass, vibraphone, tambura, timpani, bells and small percussion, and subtle voices. Kay draws from classical, Irish, Eastern, medieval, and avant-garde elements. Each of the 8 segments correlates to a color, a sound, and a chakra (energy center). Biography

Kay Gardner has been at the forefront of musicians devoted to the composition of music for healing, meditation and relaxation. Classically trained, Gardner is also recognized in folk, jazz and new age circles for her evocative and haunting works. She has over a dozen recordings of original music available - from solo flute meditations to music for small ensembles, from orchestral compositions to large choral works. Kay has traveled world-wide with her concerts and music & healing workshops. Author of Sounding the Inner Landscape: Music as Medicine,she is recognized as a leading authority on the curative use of music and sound.

We lost Kay from this world in August of 2002, shortly after she had performed and spent time among friends at the Michigan Womyn's Music Festival. We miss her dearly.
