I was born in Leland, Ms a small Delta town at the cross roads of US 61 and 82.Growing up was no cake walk,I had to stay on my P's and Q's.I put my sights on music at an early age, and from that point on, I knew what I wanted to do.
When I was able to get my very own Computer, that is when I knew I had some good skills,and creativity.I quickly learned about software, and different applications.I started recording my own tracks and beats. Hats off to the early pioneers of Funk, such as B.B.King , Johnny Taylor, Jimmy Reed, Son Thomas, a native of Leland, Muddy Waters, and many, many, more.
Track#1 on my album is dedicated to my mother,"Moma Give Love", and Track#2 gives you an idea how the so called Grown People Music is duped.
I write all of my lyrics, and music scores, and that way I know what I feel, and why I feel the way I do, when I'm letting go of my pain, or my love.
I'm proud to be "Rickey Pratt" A.K.A Lil' Ricki P.,My Mom worked hard for us, so we could have a little something. I did not take on the gansta/thug roll when I was growing up, had to handle my business, and that was, my music.I have my own style, but there is a little R.Kelly, just a dab, not much, just "a tad bit".
