The Inception of Louis Matteo & The Modern Minstrels

During a series of sunshiny summer days in 2005, Louis Matteo spent every spare moment jotting down lyrics and self-recording numerous demos. Once Matteo found and fine-tuned his own voice, it was all systems go for departure.

Motivated by a fresh set inspiring experiences, Matteo began to write a set of new songs that were roughly recorded in a rented apartment room on Boylston Street in Boston, Massachusetts. Poised in ready position in July 2005, an expansive wingspan suddenly spread widely into the limitless azure, launching Louis Matteo soaring into the stratosphere.

Securely set in a steady groove, Matteo began playing sundry showcases & open-mic nights in and around the greater Boston area during autumn 2005 and winter/spring 2006. Audiences accepted Matteoâs performances with open arms and placed a supportive stamp of approval upon his fresh off the press, coffee-shopesque set.

During spring 2006, Louis Matteo and jas wray, founder of Son of Murphy Productions, scheduled numerous preproduction meetings, at which time they unanimously agree upon each of the six songs that would eventually appear on the EP.

By the time summer 2006 rolled around, recording sessions for Confront The Congregation were scheduled at Cockpit Studios in Middletown, Delaware. Matteo entered the studio in June 2006, recording the entire collection of songs in only two weekends.

The post-production phase crossed the finish line in October 2006, as jas wray passed the final mixes along with his stamp of approval. Jonathon Wyner at M-Works Mastering Studios in Cambridge, Massachusetts, engineered the mastering session for Confront The Congregation. The completed package was then immediately sent off for replication.

Furthermore, as former lead guitarist of the now dissolved Ohio-based band, Anthem, Matteo opened for artists such as Northstar, The Goodwill, Unsung Zeros, Bayside, and Ozma.
