Mantis Fist was founded in 1998 in Albuquerque New Mexico by two sets of brothers. The "Twin-whirlwinds"; Engine Ear & El Ray - produce 97.1 of the beats, hold down the tables & add a sort of mysticism that could only be obtained by listening to Pink Floyd while playing Mario Kart in a near comma-like state. Oki & Narata write rhymes with that Style Wars meets Star Wars style... they were practicing a rare form of hip hop while you were phoning in to the radio station hoping to be the lucky 12th caller... which they don't hold against you. That leads us to the newest and I dare say most recent member of the Fist- Svetz aka Setz or Svetz Boogie. After only a few collaborations in 2004, his talent as an MC as well as a Producer, forced Mantis Fist to kid nap him permanently. He's a retired Mensa General with an IQ bigger than your dad. Since 1998 the group has compiled a list of eighty-plus original songs. Mantis Fist is currently recording an album that will be released no sooner than it's completion.
