Maria Harp and guitarist Matt Otten worked closely together on this unique project, which has brought together not only the pop and jazz tastes of Maria and Matt, but also prominently features four of the absolute top bass players in the world of jazz, fusion, and pop, plus an international crew of outstanding musicians.
Pino Palladino, most sought-after bassist in the world of pop, Gary Willis, co-leader of world renowned fusion group Tribal Tech, Niels-Henning Orsted Pedersen, Oscar Peterson's long-time partner in virtuosity, and Dutch Hein Van de Geyn, all bring their unique personalities to this album, not to mention piano diva Amina Figarova from Azerbeidjan. Never before, and never again will such a combination be found on one album.

As Matt Otten wrote the music with specifically Maria Harp and those very special bass players in mind, the album was named '14 Pieces for Harp and Bass'.
