Throughout the songs, various guest musicians from Africa, East Europe and South America joins him to help create a new, fresh sound that distinguishes "Afraid of What?" from other bass oriented albums. When listened with proper attention, you may notice his innovative style on the instrument including his trademark techniques such as "Tremolo Harmonics", "Palm Slapping", and "Tremolo Tappings"; but it never does put this album on to the ranks of the ones that are all about overusing of techniques and speed but having no musical value overall. In contrast, you will meet with a talented young musician trying to tell you stories with his music by playing his instrument in a way that not many can do...
