This album contains 14 songs that I have written over a 20 year period in several stages in life - from the time I was an ambitious teenager; to falling in love with my dream girl - who is now my wife; to me being a family man today. I was motivated to compile my songs into a music album to celebrate my 10th wedding anniversary. This is why I call the album "My Song Book... The Music In Our Lives". And it is dedicated to my beautiful wife, Lily and my two dear kids - Cheryl and Daryl. They are my inspirational "music". Yet, all of us have some kind of melodies playing in us - both good and bad - that have become very much part of our lives. This album represents my life's melodies - my memories on what life has taught me. I hope it inspires you too - and that dreams can come true.

The music titles in my song are pretty much self explanatory but let me give you some highlights:

1) Lily of the Valley: This was written specially for my wife. The title actually refers to a beautiful flower that symbolizes the "return to happiness". My wife, Lily, who brought back so much happiness to me, is the most humblest & patient person I have ever known.

2) Sweet Memories: This song brings both happy and sad memories for me. It is a reminder that we all have to move on.

3) Dreams in a Music Box: This song was written to motivate young people to pursue their dreams, no matter how impossible they may seem

4) A Quiet Time: All of us need a quiet time to ourselves for reflection

5) Lady of the Great Wall : I have always been touched by the Chinese legend behind the lady of the great wall and her immense love for her husband that she was willing to die for him. This oriental jazz song helped me win in an international music competition.

6) Life's Chances: Life presents us with so many opportunities. It is whether we choose to make use of them and make them count. I missed several golden opportunities. Fortunately, life has a knack of always giving us another chance which is what this song is about

7) A Different World: Not everybody sees things as we do â it can sometimes hurt if we mean well and are misunderstood. We need to recognize that we all live in a different world, even if we may share many things in common.

8) Enigma: I used to wonder why life was so unfair and was often depressed. This melancholic song reflected how I was back then. I have since learned to take responsibility for all my actions. You should too if you are depressed.

9) Which is You?: What happens when somebody you know suddenly became a different person? People do change and thatâs the reality. We need to accept it which is what this song is about. We ourselves change too.

10) Gregorian Prayer: . I was inspired to write this song at a time when Gregorian-style music came into main-stream music. I imagined myself in a movie scene during those days and watching the monks pray.

11) Ship of Love: I wrote this song for my cousin who got married as a wedding present but never had the courage to give him. I imagined marriage life to be a very slow voyage we make with our spouses in life to a destination which only we can determine.

12) Flight: It is always a joy to take a vacation with the ones you love. Inspired by the Jazz group, Shakatak, this song captures the excitement of flying.

13) The Lost Dragon: Do you tell stories to your children? I told this story about a lonely dragon to my daughter in the wilderness. Hereâs my interpretation in this mystical oriental song.

14) This is Our Home: My final song is the only one which features vocals. I wrote this song to support one of the government constituencies fundâs raising efforts. It is an honour for me to write this national song which was featured in a Youtube music video for Singaporeâs National Day. Singapore is my home and I thank God that I have a wonderful and supportive family.
