This album was recorded with the notion of keeping it all "live" -- where we all play off each other and use to our advantage those spur-of-the-moment artistic impulses. Basic tracks were played together in an un-airconditioned living room setting without a click or guide track in the middle of a HOT South Carolina August. Since the room wasn't exactly soundproof and it was a very humid summer, a choir of crickets and cicadas often accompanied the recordings. Lead instruments and vocals were overdubbed. The entire album was completed in less than 2 months, and was released with a concert party at the historic Abbeville Opera House. The show was captured on film and tape, and a DVD release of that concert is in the works.
