Who Wants Candy? was recorded by the Wayne Gacy Trio in the autumn of 2011. Jon Dark, an engineer from Oakland California moved to the northwest and converted a barn in Sheridan, Oregon into Pyrate Llama Studios. In the summer of 2011, singer and founder of the Wayne Gacy Trio contacted Jon. They meet and talked about the overall stylistic feel of the band and about making the tracks sound like a Polaroid of something you shouldnât see, and how they could get what the singer called âa soundtrack for the killer in all of usâ
