Michael Dyerâs lyrics are âpure poetryâ â subtle, deeply emotional, and haunting. On his first CD, Nothing Seems Like What it Seems, the majority of his songs are romantic in nature (seeking love in: Union of Souls, Youâre the One, and Luck of The Night; loss of love in: The Dawn Is Still, Nothing Seems Like What It Seems, and Translucent; anger/disappointment in love in: Full Of It.) But he also touches on other fundamental themes: the search for spiritual meaning in The Trek; the state of the environment in Earthsong; the inevitability of age and death in All In Good Time and Young Old Man.
