Mike grew up in North Bay, Ontario and it was very early on that he realized the magic of music.

Guitar, eventually but not immediately, became his first instrument. As a teenager, Mike also played classical Clarinet for 8 years and was pretty good at it. But after high-school Mike realized that guitar was going to be the tool of my trade.

After studying classical and jazz with some great teachers in Northern Ontario, he moved to Toronto in 1991 to study at Humber College with some of the greatest players in Canada (and the world for that matter). It was here his eyes were opened to the complete world of Jazz.

From then on it has been the long road to mastery, and the road shows no signs of ending.
