We realized that our lives didnât exist anymore. Not the way we remembered anyway. It only existed in ways that weâve grown to acknowledge. Thinking the same thoughts, asking the same questions and living in a state of unconscious rewind for the first 25 years was killing us softly. Not a day went by that we didnât experience some minor form of guilt for not being like our neighbor.

Breathing like thieves and sleeping like insomniacs, our whenever-minutes were running out and that computer voice in our heads whispered âsystem shutdownâ only to reboot us into the same day over and over again. Since there were no instructions handed to us, we were not sure we knew what we were looking for. Perhaps the droplet of air that expands our lungs and fills them with the courage to execute the task of being is all thatâs needed in this ozone mess we call life. Perhaps.

Then one day we awoke with a fresh, blank piece of paper that represented our minds and were able to escape a super catatonic state and break the slow-motion effects of this superstitious routine. Suddenly we began to feel confident and invigorated in taking the less traveled path out of the suburbs and into the thoughts of the newly found here and now.

Our heads are straight and our hearts are beating with pride. This is us in a nutshell and this is our moment.

So, hereâs to being again.
