The St. Southern Ensemble was first created by conductor Douglas McHill at Galveston School of Arts in 1992. Back in 1997 began activities as an independent musical ensemble group based in Houston Texas and performed frequently in major halls and concert festivals. Played several music seasons at The Rothko Chapel that is part of The Menil Complex for Arts as well as at The Byzantine Fresco Chapel located just across Rice University.
