Maxine Ray was born July 1942 in Apalachicola, Florida to the late Cora Mae and Clyde William Ray. Her grandparents were the late Jake and Maggie Moore of Quitman, Georgia and Corene Echols Ray Owens and William Ray of Waycross, Georgia. She is the niece of the late Bishop H. J. Echols of the First Born Church of the Living God organization in Waycross, Georgia. She grew up in Apalachicola, Florida were she attended Holy Family School and graduated from Quinn High. She joined and was saved in the First Born Church of the Living God organization under the pastorate of the late Bishop H. W. Willis in 1971. She is now a dedicated and faithful member of New Life First Born Church, Tabernacle by the Sea, in Apalachicola, Florida.

God dropped what she called a golden nugget into her spirit one day and she began to hum the tune "You've got to live holy; you've got to live right.â As the words began to come, so came the song. Through the years as she sang the song, the Lord said to her, "If you sing it enough, it will become a message." She gives God the glory for bringing Eric Sharper and Dream Reality Records into her life. God has used him to help bring the message to the nations.
