When one thinks of music in the Georgia Mountains, what usually comes to mind is old-time country music and gospel songs. Played on a flat-top guitar, fiddle, banjo, dobro, and the occasional dulcimer, by bearded men in overalls on front porches and at autumn festivals.
If you know where to look in Blue Ridge, Georgia - just below the dam in the bend on the Toccoa river, you will find music that combines Texas and Chicago blues, Tommy Dorsey and Glenn Miller big band sounds, a little bit of jazz and a whole lot of Rock and Roll fused together by a three piece band known as "Myke Carroll & Arc Light."

The group was formed in 1993 when three session player / sidemen decided it was time to stop playing other peoples music and play their own, just for the fun of it. "That was the only rule when we started this band," says guitarist, founder, Myke Carroll. We said, "Okay, we only play what we really enjoy, because you have to believe in what you are doing or you will never convince anyone else." Vocalist, bassist M. D. Marine and drummer John Weaver agree. You have to put 125 percent into it or people will not pay attention.

What started as an artistic release for three seasoned musicians has turned into Budweiser television commercials, t-shirts, caps, posters, and hard core fans from Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
