Joseph Carter and Derek Mattuchio formed MEET THE DAY in Massachusetts in the summer of 2001. Showcasing Joe Carter, Derek Mattuchio, Ken Polk, Billy Morris, Matt Nolan, and Brad Harbidge, the bands music offers a rhythmic intensity reminiscent of The Dave Matthews Band or Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals crossed with the delicate lyrics and musical style of Paul Simon. The band arrived on the Boston music scene in mid 2002 with several solid performances that quickly helped generate strong word of mouth and sold out shows.

At the end of 2003 the band finished first in a national on-line voting competition and soon after traveled to Memphis Tennessee where they won a national competition playing for a stern panel of judges. While in Memphis, the band recorded two tracks at the famous Sun Studios, and having put the finishing touches on seven more tracks at home in Massachusetts, the band will independently release their first full length album titled It's About Time.

While only taking small breaks from live shows and touring to record, MEET THE DAY has earned a reputation as a hardworking, successful, professional live act; polished and tuned by way of friendship and experience.
