Details:
Tom Hennessey grew up in Illinois and has been in the music business for longer than anyone who knows him can remember. He has been a part of several music projects. These projects include Wrong Way, Spent Beyond Means, Never Again, Sidekick, Last In Line, and more. Tom was the driving force behind Never Again, sharing his expertise with the other, greener, band members.
Justin Kolenc grew up in Grand Junction, Colorado. He played upright, acoustic bass all throughout his grade school career. Justin was 1st Chair in orchestra for 5 years and even won himself a spot on the Western Slope Honors Jazz Band in 1993. He didnât switch to electric instruments until he met Tom in Pearl Harbor during the frantic post 9/11 days. Both were assigned as military police and needed an outlet from the long hours. After jamming on several occasions, they decided to form a banned called Spent Beyond Means.
Spent Beyond Means played only one show. It was a block party and the organizer had it advertized all over the radio. People were steadily streaming in, though no danger of a riot lingered in the warm air that day. SBMâs lead singer couldnât remember the lyrics to his own songs! As a result, he had them all written on his wrist in Bic pen. But once he began to sweat, the words faded away. He was reduced to mumbling into the mic to cover for his memory loss. What a bomb!
After failing with their first attempt at a Hawaiian Rock band, Tom Hennessey and Justin Kolenc began looking for new band members. The search was long and hard but finally two men were settled upon, both were fellow sailors. Jon Cardoza worked with Tom and Justin as a military cop. He proved to be a valuable addition to the group both in terms of his mechanical ability on the axe, and for his ability to sing lyrics in the most Pop way possible --- even when he wasnât supposed to.
But the clincher addition to the Never Again lineup was a talented drummer who only likes to be identified by the moniker âC-Dog Jenkins.â I can tell you that he is fire alive on the drums, and when heâs not on stage he likes to drink the Kava root. Beyond that, he wishes to remain a mystery.
