Nekia Parchell

Nekia Parchell is a contemporary gospel singer and songwriter whose unique style and voice allowed her to minister in music. Her sound is upbeat, bright, inspiring and reflective. From Israel to Memphis, Honolulu to Atlanta, Nekia Parchell has sung on stages and in pulpits. This Milwaukee native has sang with various ministries throughout the years including Joseph Jennings and Dorothy Travis. Her creative arts education helped foster her talent as she participated in several plays, musicals and talent shows. At the age of 16 she began professionally recording and performing and her first CD released in titled âWilnekiaâ was released the following year. Using the proceeds to fund her college education, this current high school administrator has returned full circle to professional music. Nekia Parchellâs latest release titled âThis Dayâ hopes to inspire and encourage. Titles included âRight where you areâ, a song written after witnessing the gospel to a co-worker, âThis Dayâ a mandatory morning on your way to work tune, and âEverywhere I goâ a toe tapping up tempo groove all produced by David Garcia. Nekia Parchell was a finalist in the Gospel Music Association Academyâs Artist of 2007 competition hosted by Kirk Franklin. âThis Dayâ is only the beginning for this dedicated artist who is committed to continue to writing, performing and sharing Godâs given music talent with the world.
