Original Messenjah MJAH Records Recording Artist Conscious, smooth, soulful and undeniable rich lyrics come from Messenjah, born in Portland, Jamaica W. I., in an island rich with musical heritage and religious diversity, he brought to his new home, Montclair, New Jersey, a love for different musical styles. Messenjah remembers writing his first inspired thoughts in his early teens---realizing the power of the spoken word.

Now he continues his love and devotion today. Like most artists, Messenjah's first audience included family and friends and the devoted church members, he sang in the choir. As a result of performing in the eastern United States and the Caribbean, he has expanded his audience across ethnic and cultural lines.

Messenjah writes music that appeals to a diverse group of people. His music is very inspirational and the lyrics reflect his strong belief in the existence of a higher being and the greatness of that being. When listening to his songs, there is always a lesson to be learned, a song to be sung, and a message to be heard. As he performs, audiences are challenged to do more than just hear his lyrics, but to feel and relive the content delivered.
