FOLK: Folk Blues, BLUES: Guitar Blues
Details:
Al Bell is a singer/songwriter who has dedicated himself to writing compositions about the average man and woman in America and life as it comes at them. He plays the blues harmonica as his main instrument but uses the guitar to help him write his songs. Because he is a blues player, his compositions naturally carry some of that inflection along with them. He has played as a side man for the popular High Street band out of Boise, Idaho, as well as Jimmy Lloyd Rea and the Rumble, the Yellah Dog band and the Hardtop Ramblers, located in Eastern Oregon. He is a popular visitor to Tunesmith Night at Learâs Main street Pub, in Enterprise, Oregon featuring song writers from around the Pacific northwest. He is a studio musician and has played on CDâs produced by popular entertainers around Idaho and Oregon, such as Jimmy Bivens, Larry Jones, High Street, Jimmy Lloyd Rea and the Yellah Dog band. Al plays local venues around Oregon with other musicians and as a solo artist. He is retired and lives there with his wife of almost forty years. He is often accompanied on solo gigs by his son Matthew who is an accomplished musician. Matthew appears on most of the tracks on the Black Corvette album playing guitar and mandolin. Al has many friends in the music community and they were kind enough to play on the album as well. During his working years, Al was employed in law enforcement. He worked in such places as San Quentin and Soledad prisons in California as well as prisons in Idaho and Oregon. Songs on this album such as Texas Time and the Bus to Q were influenced by those experiences. Al would like to thank you for taking the time to read his bio and for purchasing some or all of his tunes. You can find more works by Al and other local Oregon musicians at www.kickthecanrecords.com
