ROCK: Progressive Rock, METAL: Progressive Metal
Details:
Classic Rock:
"If your taste in progressive rock leans toward the Tool/A Perfect Circle/Mars Volta side of things, then this new Cincinnati quartet could be just the band for you. The Healing lulls you into a false sense of security with its low-key beginning, before it morphs into an expansive, atmospheric song complete with an extended instrumental break. Fans of latter-day Marillion will find much to enjoy here."
---------------------------------------------
Metal Hammer:
"Every track does have its moments of brilliance. Another Tragedy attempt to merge Deftones with Tool, and then Opeth with early Incubus. When the approach works, as on the walloping dreamscape of âNowhere Anthemâ, or the downtuned groove of âThe Healingâ, this is an intelligent, yet primal force of a record."
----------------------------------------------
Rocksound:
"Inspired moments that suggest they might just develop into something truly greatâ¦Plenty of generic hard rock riffsâ¦You cant help but be intrigued by the possibility of what lies ahead"
----------------------------------------------
Rock Midgets:
"This is an ambitious and stylish, multi-textured and multi-faceted albumâ¦Around a heavy rock heartbeat there are snarling riff attacksâ¦Huge arena-bound chorusesâ¦Guitars spit and slide and scream with equal flairâ¦If your faith in rock and metal has been shaken recently, this is truly more than enough to reconfirm itâ¦This is too good to ignore"
----------------------------------------------
Ytsejam.com:
"Technical, aggressive, melodic, punchy, and melodic...The album could be seen as provoking a new sense of hard rock in the world of musicâ¦How to put some balls back into the world of rock music"
----------------------------------------------
Soldier:
"This is a superb hard rock albumâ¦Its original and musically soundâ¦Another Tragedyâs debut album is a must"
----------------------------------------------------------
The four piece progressive heavy rock act hail from Greater Cincinnati, Ohio. The bands sound is fuelled
with the rawness and brutality that made bands such as Black Sabbath and Rage Against The Machine so
compelling. The band is made up of Johnathan Chapman (Vocals), Lee Dixon (Guitar- vocals), Matt
Menard (Bass) and Caleb Campbell (Drums).
Another Tragedy perfectly blend syncopated rhythms, driving bass and slab heavy guitars with the
thought provoking and radio friendly vocals of Chapman. The band draws on influences such as Led
Zeppelin and Tool for their brutal but beautifully melodic songs. âBrokenâ, âNowhere Anthemâ and
âNothing Leftâ provide the album with enough aggression to allow for the more emotional heartfelt songs
such as âThe Healingâ and âHeadcaseâ to create the perfectly balanced album.
âThe Beauty Of Sufferingâ executes well crafted heavy-progressive rock songs with enough soul to
convince you that Another Tragedy drink from the same well of invention of bands such as Incubus, A
Perfect Circle and The Mars Volta.
