Since before she could speak, Vanessa Barbee was surrounded by music. Her dad, one of her biggest influences, introduced her to the sounds of classic rock at an early age. At age 12, she picked up the guitar and started writing songs. As her guitar playing and songwriting matured, Vanessa started performing locally in coffee shops, fairs, and various venues in her hometown of Lakeland, FL. She has released two CDs compliling of her original songs; "Chapters" in 2005 and her latest, "Drive" in 2006. Vanessa has had the opportunity of playing on 97 Country (a local radio station) and at the 2005 Texas State Fair. Her musical influences include Michelle Branch, Mindy Smith, Miranda Lambert, the Dixie Chicks, Brandi Carlile, and many more. She has also been playing the French horn since the fourth grade and is a Music major/ Music Business minor at Belmont University in Nashville, TN.
