BASSMAN75 Presents
"I GOT LUCKY"
Most rappers in the industry today state the phrase, âits not where you from but whatchu got.â If there were any one who could be a perfect example, that individual would be rapper/producer/songwriter/African gospel chorale base vocalist BASSMAN.
BASSMAN aka Lucau Isaiah MANZAMBI was born in Luanda - Angola a southern country of Africa. He is the youngest son of 8 brothers and 2 sisters. The last son of preacher has discovered his love and talent to rap when he moved to the United States. BASSMAN is a talent young MC capable to speak six different languages and rap fluent in four including: English, French, Portuguese and Spanish.
Due to the business relationships he developed over the years, BASSMAN built with many MCs, DJs and Producers a studied ways to mastered his skills and flow by collaborating with several well known over seas and United States Rap, Hip-hop, R&B and House artisans. In 2002, BASS was invited by Sprite to make a tour in Africa countries like Angola, Namibia and Congo and help African kids infected by HIV virus. Even though he is not a United Nations good will ambassador, his actions make him look like one.
His debut album âI got luckyâ features USA hottest rappers as Lil O and Hulio Shallone appears courtesy of Hit Em Hard Records, Bodaiga appears courtesy of Down Low/Sony Urban Music and âThe Gameâ affiliated G. Malone appears courtesy of Black Wall Street Record, Big Ego/Sony Urban Music, is an autobiography. The media surnamed him âMC globalisationâ because of the number of languages he speaks. To understand the concept behind BASSMAN piece of art, you have to follow the directions of his ancestors 3T âThe Triangle Tradeâ, most knowing as âtrade of Slaveâ and fact is that he travelled from Africa to America and from America to Europe, just to accomplish his goal.
âThis album is who I am, is what the world today is all about so many different races and cultures coming together for one cause, world peace. And I have the privileged to be a part of itâ says BASSMAN. BASS is well Known for his great character, positive way to represent Hip-Hop, not only by energetic and crowd engaging performances but also lyrically like âIâm constantly solvinâ conflicts around the world / develop a better place for your boys and girls - African Soldier.â Even in some songs you can observe that he might say things that we do not necessary want to pay attention to as âthose days are over now / look what happen now / weâre forced to emigrate in the city of Nazis / white supremacy and the KKK / rest in peace Steve BIKO / we ainât goinâ no where / we went from slavery to a civil war / and from civil war to industrial slavery - Lord tell me why.â
Actually, the inclusion of new sound occurred alongside with the demand of new generation of musicians and BASSMAN is a prefect example. The artist is only trying to play his part in promoting hip-hop and music in general. Therefore, BASSMAN is well aware of the contradictions of Hip-hopâs globalization process just like most of the international MCâs, and thatâs the reason why he shares love and talent for music in general with his people not only in Africa but all around the world.
