Ambient, Acoustic, Classic-American indie rock
8 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Acoustic, ROCK: Modern Rock
Details:
Influenced in equal parts by the likes of Bob Dylan, Pink Floyd, The Stones, Wilco, The Beatles, Tom Petty and many great bands of the past...
This is by far The Blackstones best record release yet.
The Band has finally cashed in on all of the promise it had shown in previous releases, AND releases when this band was known as "The Tremolo Cowboys".
Bandleader Aaron LaMere has proven himself again as a quality lyricist and songwriter, but also seems to have matured as a vocalist.
The album jumps from the dark and ambient vibe of "Hello to war" into the McCartney influenced "Three a.m." "Don't be late" is a fun, Beatles-esque pop song with quite a bit of weight behind the lyrics.
The crown jewel of this album though is, "The War of Indians"... a song about addiction and religious struggle, the song is simply classic American rock. Keeping with his forte', LaMere's guitar soloes near the end of this song are licks that would make Mark Knopfler himself proud.
The Best part about this new record is that it has an appeal that is timeless, as great rock records should be. I could easily see listening to this in five to ten years and still being impressed by the writing and style.
This ep release is the coming out party for this band, a classic album created and written by an up and coming American songwriter.
